When Heidi Ratner-Connolly and Randy Connolly found themselves frustrated by the lack of down-to-earth, accessible information on topics that were of particular personal concern, they decided to write their own books to answer that need. It was then that 2LAKES PUBLISHING and the 10thingstoknow series of books were born, generating books that give you “Long on information when you're short on time!"

    Why books on these varied subjects? Because these are subjects that mean a lot to us. Randy is deathly allergic to poison ivy and Heidi is almost as sensitive (hence Poison Ivy, Pets, & People. And ditto for bee stings (hence Bees & Other Stinging Insects . So those were the first two books we had to write. We wanted people to have the same information we needed--facts on treatments, symptoms, eradication, homeopathy, conventional medicine, and more. And we decided to stop at nothing until we succeeded.

    Our third book is perhaps slightly indulgent, but the impetus was the same...how to help people find their right mates. After all, the world of dating and relationships is tough enough without having to wade through tons of supposedly helpful information which only serves to confuse and sadden. When we finally found each other it didn't take long before we realized we had put some pretty powerful universal laws (like the biggy, the Law of Attraction) into use (in what was to become From Your Lips To God's Ear...Finding Your Right Mate In 10 Easy Steps, and again determined to help others do the same.
